I am starting this blog to capture how I am actually using AI in my daily life.

To be clear, this is not about how I use AI for work. We see enough of those posts on LinkedIn. This is about how I am taking advantage of these tools to have fun, solve personal problems, and aid my hobbies.

What to expect

I want to take you through the projects I am creating. I will upload the code and files so you can see exactly what is possible.

My first post will showcase a project I built that tracks my local bus stop to tell me when a bus is coming with some LEDs. I used AI to write the code and help me understand the technical requirements, plus help with hardware design stuff.

The Philosophy

I believe we need to shift the conversation to be more about how to take advantage of these tools at home. Then if you start using AI to solve real-world problems in your private life, you automatically become far better at utilizing it at work. It becomes a mindset rather than just a productivity tool.

The Plan

• Frequency: I will try to post once a week. No promises!
• Format: Written posts and hopefully some video content.
• The Goal: Just exploring, messing about, and seeing what happens.

A Note on Authorship

I am dyslexic. I will be writing these post myself but then using AI to help me fix up what I wrote. For me it helps me fine-tune my phrasing and fix spelling mistakes. However, know that I have done the planning and most of the writing myself. I always rewrite the output to ensure it retains my personality and style. This might become a post for the future but I want to make sure you know I am trying to be thoughtful about that and trying to not add to AI slop.

I hope this is going to be fun, that I make a tonne of mistakes and we all learn from them. Let’s see how it goes.
